• No ads. Ever. We don’t display ads and never will.
• No data selling. Your data is yours. We don’t sell it, share it, or rent it.
• Minimal collection. We only collect what’s absolutely necessary to provide our services.
• Encryption first. Your personally identifiable information (PII) is encrypted at rest using asymmetric encryption. Even we can’t read your email or name in plain text from our database.

Data Collection

• Authentication Cookies: When you sign in, we set HttpOnly, Secure cookies containing your authentication token. These cookies:

  • Cannot be accessed by JavaScript (prevents XSS attacks)
  • Are only sent over HTTPS connections
  • Cannot be used for cross-site tracking
  • Are strictly for session management and authentication
  • Expire after a set period for security

• User Accounts and Authentication: When you create a user account through Google Sign-In (Apple Sign-In coming soon), we collect:

  • Your unique identifier from the provider (e.g., Google ID)
  • Your name and email address (asymmetrically encrypted at rest)
  • Profile picture URL

  This data is securely stored in our Cloudflare D1 database. Your email address is used to identify your account and may be used for sending essential service updates or promotional communications only if you explicitly opt in.

• Game Progress: We save your game progress to the cloud so you can continue on any device. This includes game state data (board positions, scores, etc.) linked to your account.

• Email Addresses: If you choose to provide your email address as part of creating a user account, we use it to identify your account and solely to send updates about our games. We do not share or sell your email address to third parties.

• Payments: Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Stripe may collect and process your payment information according to their Privacy Policy. We do not store your payment information.

What We DON’T Collect

• ❌ No tracking cookies - Our auth cookies cannot be used for tracking
• ❌ No analytics cookies - We don’t use cookie-based analytics
• ❌ No session recording - We don’t record your gameplay or browsing sessions
• ❌ No third-party trackers - No Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, etc.
• ❌ No behavioral profiling - We don’t build profiles of your behavior

Data Usage

• Authentication cookies are used exclusively for maintaining your login session
• User account data is used to save game progress and personalize your experience
• Email addresses are used only to send updates and announcements about our games if you opt in. Subscribers may opt out at any time.
• Payment data is used solely for processing transactions and is not stored by us
• Game progress data is used to restore your games across devices and sessions

Data Retention and User Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

• We retain user account information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy or until you delete your account.
• Users have the right to:
  • Access the personal data we hold about them (via the Profile page)
  • Correct or update their data (via the Profile page)
  • Delete their account and all associated data (via the Profile page)
  • Manage email preferences and opt out of marketing communications (via the Email Preferences page)
  • Request data portability in a structured, commonly used format

Data Protection

• Asymmetric Encryption: Your PII (email, name) is encrypted at rest using asymmetric encryption. The encryption keys are stored separately from the data, meaning even in the unlikely event of a database breach, your personal information remains protected.
• HttpOnly Cookies: Authentication tokens are stored in HttpOnly cookies that cannot be accessed by JavaScript, protecting against XSS attacks.
• Secure Transmission: All data is transmitted over HTTPS.
• No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share or sell your data to third parties.
• Minimal Access: Only authorized personnel have access to systems, and even then, PII remains encrypted.

Children’s Privacy

Our Website and games are not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at contact@stellarwhiskers.com, and we will take steps to remove such data.

Opt-Out Options

• Email: You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or manage all your email preferences at the Email Preferences page.
• Account Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your Profile page. This will permanently remove your profile, game saves, and high scores.
